Books Are Treasures

Good morning!

Day 54

I read the best book and saw the best movie this week end.  It fascinates me how a good book or movie, just leaves me feeling so buzzed.  I love it when I am so lost in a book, I can't think of anything else.  It feels like such an addiction.

Reading is definitely one of my favorite activities.  I love to read!  I have actually noticed if I have not read a good book in a week or 10 days, I get grumpy.  My daughter has inherited this same addiction to books.  We both are so pulled into the story and need to devour the books.

I recall my grandma T, read like 5 books a week.  I use to walk to library with her, and her huge stash of books.  She walked to library every week, for a new stash.  I use to want to read those big books too.  In fact, when I was like in first grade, and not able to read much, I use to go to school library and check out all the fat books.  I walked around with the books and pretended like I was reading them.  I thought it made me 'cool'.  Now, years later, I have followed my grandma's T tradition.  I don't usually do 5 books a week, but I can easily read 2 or 3 books a week.

I hope my son falls in love with books too.  I was so proud the week end my daughter read her first 300 page book in 2 days.  That week end, her addiction started.  I think the joy of reading is the best gift to give anyone.  Books can teach us, inspire us, entertain us, and take us everywhere.  Books are the best treasure.
